One-on-one personalized tutoring and test prep

Ratcliffe Tutoring offers one-on-one tutoring for high school students preparing for their college admissions exams. Through a combination of one-on-one sessions, homework assignments, and full practice tests, my customizable programs help students tackle the tests from multiple angles. I focus on a full review of the content of each test in addition to teaching strategies to help students understand how to efficiently and effectively move through the test to maximize their scores. The test prep programs utilize an online platform that offers subject-specific practice problems as well as full test sections. I use all of this to personalize sessions to fit each student taking into account learning style, knowledge base, and practice needs.

Unsure of whether to take the SAT or the ACT? No problem! We can talk through the specifics of each test to decide which one will best highlight the strengths of each individual student.

I am located in Chicago and offer in-home services for the greater Chicagoland area.

Meet the tutor:

A graduate from Northwestern University, Jacinda Ratcliffe began one-on-one tutoring through a nationally acclaimed company in 2020; in her time as a tutor, she has guided students to ACT score increases as high as 9 points and SAT score increases as high as 250 points. By focusing on getting to know each student in terms of their learning habits and ultimate goals, she is able to tailor her teaching style to what will be most effective.

Pricing

In home - $125/session
Virtual - $100/session

All sessions are 1.5hrs

Recommended one session per week; 8-12 sessions total pending discussion of student’s needs.
